One hour, your mix. A 60-minute massage and a 60-minute assisted stretching session are the same price in the clinic ($105), so you can split a one-hour session between the two however you like, with Yann or Farid. HICAPS available on eligible massage treatments in the clinic, not on mobile appointments.
What the research says. A Cochrane review of 25 trials (3,096 participants) found massage more effective than inactive treatments for easing back pain in the short term, and a 2017 meta-analysis (11 studies, 504 participants) found it reduced muscle soreness after exercise. A 2024 systematic review of manual therapies found 83% of massage-specific studies reported a reduction in anxiety, and a 17-study meta-analysis (786 participants) associates massage with reduced depressive symptoms and better self-rated sleep. These are general, well-researched effects rather than a promise of treatment for any specific condition — what your session focuses on is decided with your practitioner.
Common Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What's the difference between remedial, deep tissue and relaxation massage here?
Massage Therapy at Health Clinic Waverton isn't booked as one fixed technique. Yann offers remedial, relaxation and deep tissue massage; Farid offers relaxation and deep tissue massage. Each session is adapted to your tension patterns, activity level and goals on the day, rather than locking you into a single style in advance.
Can I claim a health fund rebate on my massage?
Eligible remedial massage sessions can be claimed on the spot: we offer HICAPS on-site, so your private health fund rebate is processed instantly at checkout, with fast claims and less paperwork than submitting a receipt yourself.
Does massage actually help with pain and muscle tension?
The research above is what shapes each session: a Cochrane review of 25 trials (3,096 participants) found massage more effective than inactive treatments for easing back pain in the short term, and a 2017 meta-analysis found it reduced muscle soreness after exercise. These are general, well-researched effects rather than a promise of treatment for any specific condition. What your session focuses on is decided with your practitioner.
How long is a session, and how often should I book?
Session length and frequency are tailored to what you're addressing, whether that's a one-off for general tension or a more regular cadence alongside training or an ongoing issue. Your practitioner discusses timing and frequency with you at your first visit, and Smart Pack treatment packages (5 or 10 sessions) are available if you're planning multiple sessions.
Is this a professional, non-sexual service?
Yes, and only that. Every treatment at Health Clinic Waverton is strictly professional and non-sexual, draped throughout, in a clinical setting with a qualified therapist. A request for anything else is not answered, and anything outside the treatment during a session ends it at once.
